THE GLOBAL RETAIL THEFT BAROMETER 2009

Work on the Global Retail Theft Barometer 2009 (GRTB2009)
has started.
Questionnaires: Questionnaires have now been sent
out the 3,800 senior executives of retail corporations in 42 different
countries.
GRTB2009
reports on trends in retail crime and security (loss prevention)
expenditure by major retailers across the world. This year, new
countries to be surveyed include China, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan, and
Morocco. They join other countries in this survey including the
UK, the US, Germany, France, Italy, India, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina,
Spain, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore (full
list: see below).

If you would like to fill in a questionnaire, please
download a copy here. Although the questionnaire is in
dollars, please use your own currency and we will convert
it. Just write what currency you are using in the space provided.

GRTB2009 is comfortably the largest survey in
the world into retail shrinkage and crime. This is the third Global
survey and the ninth study in the European series (previously it
was the European Retail Theft Barometer). The GRTB, which
is sponsored by Checkpoint Systems, Inc., is used by retail corporations
across the world to evaluate trends and to benchmark themselves
against other companies.
Some key facts from the Theft Barometer will be posted on the site
after publication.
